Important Maths Formulae for General competitions & Entrance Exams
1. (a+b)2=a2+2ab+b2
[a plus b whole square is equal to a square plus two a b plus b square]
2.(a+b)2=(a-b)2+4ab
[a plus b whole square is equal to a minus b whole square plus four a b ]
3.(a-b)2=a2-2ab+b2
[a minus b whole square is equal to a square minus two a b plus b square]
4.(a-b)2=(a+b)2-4ab
[a minus b whole square is equal to a plus b whole square minus four a b]
5. a2-b2=(a+b)(a-b)
[a square minus b square is equal to a plus b multiplied by a minus b]
6. (a+b)2+(a-b)2=2(a2+b2)
[a plus b whole square plus a minus b whole square is equal to two multiplied in sum of a square and b square]
7. (a+b)2- (a-b)2=4ab

16. 1+3+5+7+...............+n= n2
17. 2+4+6+8+..............+n=n(n+1)
18. S = n/2(a+l)
19. S=n/2[2a+(n-1)d]
20. 1^2+2^2+3^2+..............+n^2 = n(n+1)(2n+1)/6
21. 1^3+2^3+3^3+...........+n^3= [n(n+1)/2]^2
