Booker Prize  1. The booker Prize was founded in 1969. 2. The booker Prize is open to novels originally written in English, published in the UK or Ireland. 3. The first winner of the Booker Prize was P. H. Newby. 4. He got the prize for his book 'Something to answer For ' 5. In 2023 this prize was given to Irish writer Paul Lynch for post democratic dystopia  ' Prophet Song ' 6. In 2024 the prize is given to Samantha Harvey for her book ' Orbital '. 7. International Booker Prize is awarded to a work of fiction written in an international language translated into English. 8. Geetanjali Shree is the first Indian to win it for her novel ' Tomb of Sand. 9. Albanian novelist Ismail Kadare in 2005 as inagural winner for his entire body of work. 10. Arundhati Roy was the first Indian citizen to win the prize in 1997 for her book ' The God of small things '.
