Important facts about 'Turner Prize' The Turner Prize 1. It was established in 1984. 2. It is one of the most prestigious art awards. 3. It endeavours to highlight recent developments in contemporary British art. 4. It recognises the work of a British artist. 5. Indian origin artist Jasleen Kaur has won the ' Turner Prize ' 2024. 6. She has won this prize for her exhibition   ' Alter Altar.' 7. 'Alter Altar ' reflects on plurality, personal and political themes. 8. Artist Anish Kapoor won the prize in 1991. 9. Her famous work is in 2021 series ' Gut Feelings Meri Jaan ', in 2018 ' I Keep Telling Them These stories '. 10. Her 2019 publication ' Be Like Teflon ' is commissioned by panel for Glasgow Women's Library '. It comprises conversations between Kaur and women of Indian heritage living in the UK.
